Review: L'oréal False Lash Wings Mascara

The L'oreal False Lash Wings mascara is a new product that I have been trying for the past month now and I can honestly say straight up that I absolutely love it! It took me a few turns to get a feel for the product and the best way to apply it, but afterwards it made my lashes the longest I've seen them (and I have long lashes to begin with). The asymmetrical brush helps to lift and lengthen your outer lashes, creating a more winged out eye, as it is able to reach right into those little outer lashes that most mascaras won't get too.

The formula is quite wet and will take about 30 seconds to completely dry, so hold back the sneezes between then ladies haha! The first coat I mainly focus on applying the product as close and thick to the lash line and then slowly rolling the wand up to the tip of my lashes to create length. I find coating your lashes for the second time is so easy as the lashes haven't completely dried but isn't overly wet, so you can still get the brush through to separate and volumise the lashes. I also tend to grab the tip of the wand and sweep through the outer lashes again to further enhance the winged look and also to darken the lashes even more. The product contains unique cocoon fibres that supposably wrap lashes in a soft veil to create silky and stunning lashes.

Overall, I think the L'oreal False Lash Wings mascara is a-ma-zing and is definitely a repurchase for me! It's a mascara that both lengthens and volumises your lashes without clumping or flaking. If you haven't already got your hands on this product you should definitely check it out as I highly recommend it.

How to: Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes!

Cleaning your brushes regularly is really important in terms of hygiene and keeping your skin clean and clear of any germs and bacteria causing you to break out. If you notice your skin is all of a sudden breaking out, check the last time you washed your brushes and most likely it will be the cause if not washed over 2-3 months ago.

This is an antibacterial hand soap that I use to clean my brushes with. I don't always use this specific brand just any hand soap I have,  you can even use washing detergent, or other appropriate cleaning product.

Start off by dampening the brush head under warm water, making sure not to get water above the bristles where the handle starts as this will ruin your brush.

Pump some soap onto the top of the brush (not having the brush up right for too long as the water will run down the brush and loosen the glue).

Rub the brush over the palm of your hand in different motions. The Crevices of your fingers will  make sure the brush is really being cleaned deep within bristles and all product is coming out.

After you can see no colouring of makeup washing out onto your hand and your sure your brush is squeaky clean, push the bristles together and squeeze as much water from the brush as you can.

Then place your clean brushes up right onto a hand towel or clothe so the excess water runs straight out of the brushes. Note: Laying your brushes off the side of a bench or basin, the water can run back into the brush, which can settle and ruin your brushes. The glue holding the bristles together can loosen and hairs can fall out. For long lasting brushes it is best to sit them up right (as shown above) so the water can drain properly. When spending money on quality brushes, you want to treat them properly and care for them.

Healthy Snack - Sweet Potato Chips!

If your after a quick and easy snack in between your meals, then just keep reading to find out how to make this delicious snack!

Sweet potato have many health benefits such as they are high in vitamin B6, good source of vitamin C and D, and also contain iron and magnesium which helps with the relaxation and anti-stress mineral.
I have recently discovered this recipe and I have been making them every day since after my lunch. You only need 3 ingredients: Sweet Potato, Salt and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
To start off you will need to peel and thinly slice the potato whichever way you would like (either longways or from the ends). Then place into a bowl and pour in about a tablespoon of olive oil depending on how much potato you have cut, (it really doesn't need to be exact) then sprinkle in some salt. And again it is just personal preference on how much salt or oil you want with the potatoes. Then get your hands in there and mix it all around!
Grab an oven tray with the wire rack over the top and place baking paper underneath the wire rack. This is for easy clean up and for any oil that will fall onto the paper. Throw on the sliced sweet potato pieces and cook for about 15 minutes or to preferred crispiness. (I have a fan forced oven and I put the temperature at 160).
And you're DONE! Too easy, so theres no excuse to be eating junk in between meals when you don't know what to eat or don't have hours to make something. This recipe honestly takes 3 minutes preparation time and 15 minutes cooking, so less than 20 minutes!

Cute Lunch With Mum & Dad!

Today my parents and I went to lunch at a cute cafe in Epping, Sydney, so I thought I would take some photos for you all as I haven't yet posted an everyday (out and about) type of blog. I ordered a banana and mixed berry smoothie which was so delicious and thick in a massive glass, and eggs benedict on sour dough toast with salmon and hollandaise sauce. Yum! Mum had chicken ceaser salad and Dad had a burger and chips.
After Dad had gone back to work, Mum and I headed to Priceline to make use of the 40% off sale which sadly ended today! And of course to end our shopping trip we made a quick stop into Yogurtland. My favourite toppings I get every time are coconut, kiwi fruit, mango bursts and passionfruit which is!
After a nice day spent with the parents, it's now time to relax in a bubble bath surrounded by candles and read a magazine. Hope you all had a beautiful day and spent it well.

Love Me Some Rose Gold!

Rose gold has been a very popular trend for a few months now and I'm absolutely obsessed. It is so easy to wear as an accessory to add sophistication and class to a simple outfit. Below I have put together a collection of rose gold items which I love and are pretty much worn in my everyday outfit.
The Mimco pouch is so convenient for just ducking out to the shops containing credit cards, cash and other very small items. I am able to fit in my iPhone (without a case) as well as my car keys (which is just the car key and house key attached). It is a really cute size for just some necessities.
Using a rose gold eyeshadow creates such a stunning makeup look either for everyday or used with darker shadows for a more bold look for night time. The Mary Kay eyeshadow is quite pigmented when using Mac Fix+ and is a really shimmery shadow which makes it perfect for a 'going out' makeup look.
The necklaces from Witchery and Jigsaw are very different in styles but both can be worn casually or dressed up which is what I love most about them! The black and rose gold chained necklace is more of a bold piece which looks perfect with jeans and a plain neutral t-shirt. The weaved necklace with different sized rhinestones round the front is a more girly and beautiful necklace.
A thick, statement, rose gold watch is a must in any girls collection! Michael Kors watches are so elegant and classy and am so in love with it. You can not wear any other piece of jewellery and still look well put together for a dinner or party.

Eyeshadow - Mary Kay Mineral EyeColour  (Honeyspice)
Necklace (black and rose gold) - Witchery
Necklace (weaved with rhinestones) - Jigsaw
Mim Pouch - Mimco
Watch - Michael Kors (style no. MK5263)
Candle - Glasshouse (Rio De Janeiro)

My Skincare Routine!

Ultra Clear Exfoliating Gel, Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser, Even Skintone Serum, Ultra Balancing Skin Mist, Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum, Ultra Moisturiser Eye Cream and Ultra Hydrating Lotion.

Healthy skin starts with a good skincare routine and products that work best for your skin type. Taking good care of your skin is of primary importance when it comes down to being confident and looking your best. As I have suffered with really bad skin for about 3 or more years now I know the feeling of not being confident with yourself and always worrying about what people are thinking when they look at you.
I have been using Ultraceuticals products now for a bit over a year and am totally in love with their range of cleansers, moisturisers, serums, etc. Above are all the products I have been using morning and night and have been recommended to me for my skin. I have probably tried all their cleansers and moisturisers as I have beauticians recommending different things to me all the time. I find this routine is working perfect for me at the moment and have noticed dramatic changes in my skins appearance. I highly recommend checking out their products. (They also sell mineral makeup products).

You can purchase Ultraceuticals from their website and they ship internationally. If you live in Australia you can buy products from their counter in David Jones and also in some beauticians. (Check out their website to see all locations where they are sold).

  1. Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser - This light, non-stripping gel cleanser is formulated to thoroughly cleanse and remove impurities and makeup without disturbing the skins natural moisture balance. I cleanse once using a kohl sponge (recommended for acne skin) and then dampen a sponge with hot water and place over my face to remove my cleanser.
  2. Even Skintone Serum - This product dramatically retextures and brightens skintone. This product has helped amazingly with clearing up my skin! I notice a difference in the next morning after using this.
  3. Ultra Hydrating Lotion - Lightweight, fast absorbing moisturiser that balances and hydrates the skin leaving a shine free finish. It doesn't feel oily and just soaks into the skin.
  4. Ultra Balancing Skin Mist - All in one refreshing skin conditioner that hydrates, clarifies and soothes. In the morning I love to spray this once my makeup is complete as it leaves my skin with a dewy and hydrated finish.

  1. Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser - At night I cleanse twice (once to remove the makeup and the second to actually cleanse) using the same kohl sponge and removing with a damp hot sponge each time.
  2. Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum - Dramatically plumps and refines skin and improves fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and imperfections. This product has also helped so much with the clearing of my skin.
  3. Ultra Moisturiser Eye Cream - A long lasting hydration that nourishes and soothes around the eyes. I find this eye cream perfect for me as I am still young and don't need anything that prevents fine lines or wrinkles. This is awesome as it moisturisers and helps when I get quite dry around the eyes.
  4. Ultra Balancing Skin Mist - I tend to not use a moisturiser at night when using the Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum as I find it quite thick and moisturising anyway. So I will sprits my face with this skin mist to add that light coverage of extra moisture before bed.

Ultra Clear Exfoliating Gel - It is really important to exfoliate regularly to remove the unwanted and dead skin from the top layer of your face. Once exfoliated, the products will soak into the skin better, and improve your skins appearance. This exfoliator gently polishes and freshens the complexion which contain gentle beads to cleanse, exfoliate and remove residue whilst maintaing the skins moisture balance. My skin feels like a babies bum after using this (which is when you know the products is good)! I try to exfoliate about 2 times a week after cleansing at night.
